Pastor Charles Schmitt - Learning More About a Religion

The Christian faith is so deep, complex, historical and open to interpretation, that it can be difficult fro some worshipers and believers to find a meaningful connection to God. In order to overcome this, many turn towards education and faith studies, to better understand Christianity, and how it can deepen their understanding and love of the Lord. Furthermore, these educational programs also provide the perfect foundation for those who want to go on to spread the word of God and help people better understand the the bible and its teachings.
Pastor Charles P. Schmitt is a speaker at Immanuel's Church in Silver Springs Maryland. Over the course of his career, he has actively encouraged members of the church and worshipers to take part in the educational programs the church institution offers, to help them gain a better understanding of the faith. An example of one such course on offer in the Immanuel's College Spirit and the Word educational program is the Authority of the Believer. This course is a journey of understanding the dynamics of dominion, authority and power. In order to know how to walk in our God-given dominion, authority and power, they will explore the book, Dominion Power – Operating in Your Authority, examining the finished work of the cross, the importance of faith and love for walking in victory, what it means to believe in the Lord Jesus, doing the works of God, and understanding the whole armor of God and being clothed with it.
There is also an interesting study named Biblical Marriage Foundations. This course is for couples who wish to enrich their marriage or receive some help in getting through the difficult times that we all experience in our married lives. It is also a requirement for anyone desiring to get married at Immanuel's Church. The class includes the Prepare/Enrich Assessment, an excellent tool for defining areas of strength and areas in which we need help. Individual counseling and/or coaching is also provided.
And there is the Biblical Meditation and Prayer Group. How still is your soul? How often do you literally meditate on God’s Word? During this nurturing fellowship, you will meditate on Scriptures that still our hearts and souls in the midst of a hectic world. In the book, Anatomy of the Soul, we will discover the physiological benefits and power of the ancient tradition and the biblical mandate to meditate on the Word of God and have relationship with Him and others.
